Sudden impacts recognised
Fall detection is designed to recognise sudden, hard impacts while filtering out everyday movements. No fall detector can detect every fall — slower falls, like gradually slipping from a chair, may not always be picked up.
Every MediAlarm 247 device includes fall detection as standard. It adds an important layer of protection — here’s what it can do, and what you need to know.

Trips and falls can happen to any of us, at any time — and in those moments you may not be able to press your button, or you may be too shaken or disoriented to use it.
Fall detection is designed to handle this kind of situation automatically. If the device senses a hard fall and you don’t respond, it alerts our care team on your behalf.
We include it as standard on every device, because we believe everyone deserves that additional peace of mind.
A trip on the corner of a rug, a stumble over the dog — it can seem so minor. Yet falls send more older people to hospital than anything else. Fall detection is an extra layer of reassurance for those moments.
It won’t prevent a fall, but it can help raise the alert when a fall happens.
Wearable technology combined with our 24/7 UK care team — designed to help when you can’t press the button yourself.
Fall detection is designed to recognise sudden, hard impacts while filtering out everyday movements. No fall detector can detect every fall — slower falls, like gradually slipping from a chair, may not always be picked up.
When a fall is detected, the device pauses for a few seconds to check whether you’re okay. If it senses movement, it assumes you’re alright and won’t call our team.
If there’s no response and no movement, you’ll normally be connected to our team in seconds, day or night. We’ll assess the situation and arrange the right help — emergency services, your contacts, or a reassuring check-in.
Our Go - Adults GPS watch and One - GPS Pendant rely on the mobile network to call our team. They can raise a fall detection call anywhere there’s a mobile signal — at home, in the garden, or out and about.
When you first receive your device, you’ll need to test your device button throughout your home — and, if you have one, your garden — so you can be confident an emergency call can be raised wherever you are.
Whether you’re ready to get started or just want to understand your options, we’re here to help.
